"Show You Off"

Arm twist...Sigh..yes I think I can "show you off" to the public now. I had so much fun working on this piece..I love how each is so different than the next. This is the first of 3 Wrist Rock's I am doing that will be headed directly to Trend Savage.

Each Wrist Rock now Features a Microsuede backing with padding underneath for a SUPER comfy fit. The trim is braided and they also have a cute tassle that hangs down on the underside of your wrist to give it a very fringy boho look.

Where the tassle hangs down there is an attached classic BD brass tag (Not Shown in this Picture- I'll post an image of it on the next piece), so that all your  friends will know just where to find me :)

"Sneak Peak"

Hay Hay Hay! I know it's freezing out..holiday music is playing etc...but for us jewelry designers it's prep time for summer...and soon it will be prep time for fall..yes..fall 2013. I figured I'd go ahead and give some loyal followers a sneak peak into the 25 Shades bracelet collection summer colors! These are SO much fun to layer with a wrist rock!

My work days are definitely crazy right now but I wouldn't have it any other way! I love the hectic life of being a wife, mom and artist oh and did I mention caretaker of two adorable pups? Part of what makes designing and art fun is the element of surprise. The fly by the seat of your pants and hold on tight days somehow wind up being some of my best moments. The past few days have been a blur of moments just like these...

My son just got his first tooth this weekend and has refused to sleep. He has been so inconsolable...even our dogs have been fearful of his mood swings which is a first. The poor guy just wants to snuggle and babble to me about how sucky getting teeth is and can you honestly blame him?

So While I create and photograph and work on filling my holiday orders and summer pieces amongst the other thousand things on my to do list..I converse with my "almost" 6 month old about "that big bad tooth" coming in.

On a different note..one of the other things I have been working hard on is the website and folks the countdown is officially on! A new and improved BD website and er mah gash I cannot wait to show you ALL! It is finally heading in the right direction (you gotta learn and figure out what works and what doesn't) and I cannot wait for it to go live! Were aiming for a January 1st upload!!! and EEEEE!!!! so exciting!

So many things in the works...I can't wait to share them all!

"What's Your Vision?"

So far this week has been a week of "planning" and filling custom order's for me at the BD studio. I thought I would start this blog off with some loverly photo's of these Jewels!

This piece above was a one of a kind 10th anniversary gift.  I added 10 SWAROVSKI diamond like crystals so the lucky gal would always know it was her 10th anniversary present!

I've also been impatiently waiting on shipments to arrive which finally have and er mah gash! Totally did my happy dance as I opened all my supplies last night!!! Ordering supplies for BD is probably one of the most difficult tasks. Sometimes it takes me weeks, I go back and forth back and forth, trying to mentally piece together everything. Until finally my husband looks at me and begs me to just place my order's and trust my instincts. If only the visions of jewels in my head weren't so dadgum stubborn!

I cannot wait to dig into my goodies and create some more one of a kind bold statement pieces. Sometimes I have so many design ideas that run through my head at once I don't know what to do. They ALWAYS happen at the most inconvenient times as well. Like say, when I am walking my dog and pushing my son in the stroller. Frantically I look down at my hands and think, "Two hands, two hands...only two hands...mother %*#@ if only I had a third to jot down this idea real quick!"

Today is super exciting for me though. Speaking with one of my mentor's about BD's future and what it looks like. It's a little bit of an overwhelming concept when someone asks - What's your vision? Where do you want to be in 10 years? But at the same time how are you supposed to move forward when you don't know which direction you want to be heading?

I have thought about this question long and hard for over a year, and I think I finally have my answer-
You know what they say, "Go big or go home."

Happy Friday From the BD studio,

"Swarosvki"

As many of you know my pieces are made using only SWAROVSKI crystal, each piece comes with an official issued tag from Swarovski North America. It is truly the best product on the market and if you ever hold a SWAROVSKI crystal up to lower brand one you will see why there is a price difference. When I started BD I knew I was aiming for one of a kind custom pieces that would LAST and be extra special. Each crystal is treated with a coating that gives it a rainbow affect making it more brilliant and perfect than before and when you hold one in the light you truly wonder how something so small can be so ridiculously flawless.

Fun fact for you- "The Swarovski Group also includes Tyrolit (makers of abrasive and cutting tools); Swareflex (reflective and luminous road markings); Signity (synthetic and natural gemstones); and Swarovski Optik (optical instruments such as binoculars and rifle scopes)."
-Wikipedia

WHAT?! Rifle Scopes! How flippin' awesome is that!?

Have you heard of any other crystal company on the market landing advertising deals with BMW and Crown Royal Whiskey to name a few? I don't think so...

Something I found particularly interesting on the company was that they made the star that adorns the top of the Rockefellar Center Christmas Tree in NYC from 2004-2009. That must have been one BLINGED OUT star! Check it out!
Standing 9 feet tall and weighing a whopping 550 lbs.

As usual I am saving the BEST for last...Have any of you ever seen 2004's Phantom of the Opera featuring Gerard Butler? If you haven't I promise you won't regret it! SWARVOSKI straight up DOMINATED in that film!

Who remember's when Emmy Rossum makes her debut on stage? Remember those insanely gorgeous hair combs she was wearing? or the cinderella dress that had us reminiscing on our princess dress up days? Yep- can you say HELLO SWAROVSKI!

Who remember's her engagement ring? can you say "I DO?"

Finally...I am pretty sure you can guess where this one may be headed... the "center piece" of the film... The Chandelier! Standing 17 feet tall and 13 feet wide it shouldn't come as a shock to know it had IT'S own stunt double-

In the film they also featured a SWAROVSKI shop.

I love digging up dirt like this! It makes me love my crystals even more :) Especially when a brand like this is featured in films and in advertisements with the big dogs! Swarovski was even used to bedazzle Michael Jackson's costumes. What is up!

Check out more photo's from the movie here on SWAROVSKI's website!
